CORE BELIEFS AND GOALS

To maintain a healthy democracy we need a strong public education system, well-maintained infrastructure, quality affordable and accessible mental and physical health services and public safety agencies. My pledge to the constituents of Greenland and Rye is to provide the best service possible in working toward these goals. Good government is about bringing people together to form the best policy and balanced budgets, not partisanship.

  • Ensuring NH meets its constitutional requirement of supporting K-12 public education

  • Supporting affordable and accessible health care for all of NH’s citizens

  • Protecting NH’s drinking water sources

  • Maintaining roads and bridges to attract business and insure personal safety

  • Ensuring that state obligations are not forced onto towns or cities

  • Addressing college student debt in New Hampshire

  • Working across the aisle to create balanced state budgets

  • Thoroughly understanding both local and statewide issues

 

Together, we’ve achieved much in the past few years.

  • Co-sponsored and passed legislation that establishes the requirement for the use of American made steel products in all public works projects where the state administers the contract and the contract involves at least $1 million state dollars.

  • Co-sponsored and passed legislation to clean-up the Coakley Landfill

  • Co-sponsored and passed legislation to establish the Seacoast Cancer Cluster Investigation Commission

  • Co-sponsored and passed legislation to lower the minimums for PFOA and PFAS in drinking water throughout the state

  • Co-sponsored and passed legislation to include Greenland representation on the Pease Development Authority Board of Directors

 

Biography

Dennis Malloy is completing his fourth term in the NH House of Representatives serving Greenland and Newington and is ready to serve the new Greenland-Rye district beginning in 2023. Originally from Iowa, Dennis and his wife Laura have lived in New Hampshire for the past 21 years.

He was appointed to the Ways & Means Committee in 2017 and served as clerk of Ways & Means in the 2019-2020 term. The Ways and Means Committee studies all of NH’s sources of revenue and advises the House on all tax and fee revenue that will be available to the Finance Committee.

Dennis was originally elected to the NH House from Barrington in 2012 and appointed to the Municipal and County Government Committee. He also served two terms as Barrington Selectman before moving to Greenland to be closer to his wife’s business (Malloy Interiors located in Portsmouth).

From 2001 to 2011 Dennis served as the Chief Development Officer for NH Public Television and is an arbitrator with the Financial Industries Regulatory Authority (FINRA) that provides oversight and regulatory leadership to the securities industry.

Dennis and Laura both graduated from college and began their professional careers in Iowa. Dennis holds degrees from Coe College in Cedar Rapids and Iowa State University in Ames.

In Iowa, Dennis served as Director of Development and Community Relations for Iowa Public Television and as station manager for an FM radio station in Des Moines.
