Pease Restoration Advisory Board

I am pleased to announce that I’ve been re-appointed to the Pease Restoration Advisory Board for another term. The Board, or RAB is a stakeholder grouip that meets regularly to discuss environmental restoration at a specific property that is currently or was formerly owned by the Department of Defense, where the DOD oversees the environmental restoration process, in this case the former Pease Air Force Base.

The Air Force is committed to working in accordance with all regulatory requirements to investigate and, eventually if necessary, to remediate PFOS/PFOA in the groundwater at the former air force base. The Air Force is currently conducting mitigation efforts under the Comprehensive Environmentala Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) in response to an administrative order that was issued by the US EPA in August 2015.
