In a floor speech I gave supporting the newly formed Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute started by noted New Hampshire applied engineering specialist Dean Kamen I said there are advantages to the entire state of New Hampshire by passing this bill and making us the hub of regenerative medicine.
I believe this even more today as we move into the 3rd year of this iniitiative that grants a 10 year business profits and business enterprise reprieve for businesses that devote 60 percent of their resources to developing and applying this technology.
In my speech, I said that our employment rate rignt now is stuck at an all-time low and our population is aging which is hampering our state’s effort at growth and economic expansion. New job training and career opportunities from this project will jumpstart job growth and our state is poised to enjoy a major renaissance.
Job creation will bring skilled and talented people to New Hampshire and enhance the educational and career opportunities of those of us who are already here. That brings new homeowners, renters and customers for current and new businesses.
This growth won’t be limited to Manchester, but will be felt statewide as employers and firms spread in all directions within the state. Given the high value per weight of the products of this tecnnology, some manufacturing facilities and auxiliary services will likely move to the farthest corners of the state for the lower housing and labor costs and the attractions of rural life.
Because of the likelihood of corporate donations and payment of property and other taxes by new firms and employees, we espect little or no negative impact on the future budges and we hop you will juoin us in assuring our state’s future prosperity.
This bill passed with a large majority and was endorsed by many organizations including the Busijness and Industry Association (BIA) of New Hampshire.
