The New Hampshire House concluded its work for the 2020 legislative session, sending over 30 bills to the Governor’s desk for signature. Many of the bills passed today provide direct relief to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

I am incredibly proud of the work the House was able to accomplish this year. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced us away from the State House, we kept working. Assuring that Granite Staters in every community had the information and resources needed to remain safe during the pandemic became our top focus.

By helping people navigate the unemployment process, obtain assistance for their small business, and obtain resources to help them remain safe and healthy, House members worked to assure that their constituents had the assistance they needed and were kept informed.

Since resuming legislative business through Zoom meetings and at the Whittemore Center in Durham, we have focused on needed reforms and providing COVID-19 support requiring legislation.

We rolled up our sleeves and sent many bills to benefit Granite Staters to the Governor’s desk. We voted to lower prescription drug prices and the cost of insulin, helped renters, landlords and businesses decimated by the pandemic, helped frontline workers and those hit by unemployment and helped keep basic government functions like highway upkeep on track.

Once again, I thank House members for their community outreach during this time, and I particularly thank my colleagues for their work to do the people’s business and pass bipartisan legislation.
