I was pleased to meet with and speak to the participants in the YMCA Youth and Government Day in April 2022. I’m speaking with students serving on the House Ways and Means Committee, the committee on which I sit.

The teachers in the program had these students prepared very well and I was impressed with their knowledge of the bills before them and the amendments that were offered.

Since Covid, this was the first year the students were able to return to the historic NH Statehouse.

The YMCA Youth & Government Program prepares participants for moral and political citizenship in local, state, or national government roles. It provides guidance, training and an experience in the American democratic process of state government and based upon the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and resonsibility and seeks to accomplish its purpose.
